| Do you take your doctors advice seriously? | | How good patient you are? Do you follow your doctor's advice seriously? In some cases, there are times we don' t take doctor's advice earnestly,we sometimes disregard some advice which can affect ourselves .Sometimes we think that there will be no harm if we sometimes disobey the advice given by our doctors,but at times we realize that it doesn't benefit us,being disobedient taking his/her advice can risk our health and life. In some other circumstances, we even neglect taking medicine, prescribed by our doctors.We choose to have self medication sometimes,[b]but finally at the end we[/b][b]still have to seek their advices and prescriptions,when life/health is at risk.[/b]Myself sometimes disobey my doctors advice and but now I learned that being a patient we are required to pay attention to our doctors advices.How about you guys?[b] Do you sometimes disobey their advices? | | Doctors have given up on Prahalad Jani. | | Prahalad Jani, the 82 year old man from Ahmedabad in India has not either eaten anything nor drunk any liquids since the last 65 to 70 years. He was kept in a private hospital and was being monitored closely by a team of over 20 doctors to see how he managed this amazing feat for so long. CCTV camera recorded his every move and doctors saw that he neither ate nor drank anything in the stipulated time frame of 15 days.Numerous tests were conducted on him during the course of the period. They also saw that he did not pass any urine nor did he execrete anything during this period.In fact he had requested them to lock the door of the toilet and bathroom as he did not need it. The only water he used was for bathing and washing his face but he did not drink it.
After the 15 days were over the doctors called a press conference which was televised nationally and the doctors said that they had completely failed in their quest to find out the secret behind is fasting feat. This is true Yoga. | |

| Can a hug a day keep doctors away? | | Have you tried holding a placard with "free hug" written on it? I never tried it although they said that it has health benefits. I wonder what could it be. What can you say? | |
| | If you have a hospital or doctors appointment, do you prefer to go alone.. | | ... or would you rather be accompanied by a friend or family member? My husband prefers me to go with him to appointments. I, on the other hand would far sooner just go by myself. If I go by myself, I feel more confident, strong in control and able to concentrate and deal with whatevers happening. If I am accompanied, I feel like an "ill person".
How about you - do you find it a comfort or support to have someone else there? | |

| Do you sometimes think doctors are talking out of their textbooks? | | I often question the medical world . . . particularly the doctors of "western" medicine. Sure they have helped people, but other times I have to wonder if they're "really" helping them. Many of them frown upon other options - like alternative medicine - I don't understand why doctors seem to think they have definite answers, when they don't necessarily do. Why aren't they more open minded? For instance, my daughter has eczema. Thus far there is no cure for eczema and apparently the only place they are doing research on it is in Australia (even though more and more people are getting it). All the doctors we've been to for her have said the SAME thing about it and have offered the SAME remedies . . . and were not open to anything I said about my own research. I've been to forums about it and even they said the same thing about doctor's remedies for it - that it's only a quick fix and in the long run, their remedies will ruin your skin. So why do you think many doctors go by the textbook and "their" answer is their final answer? What makes them so sure that their remedy is the best that the modern world has to offer to cure anything? | |
