| | Tea Tree Oil | | I just went out and bought my third bottle of Tea Tree oil. I find it indespensible to have around the house. I find it very effective for heat rash as well as bug bite and scrapes and abrasions. are there any other uses that might be new to me . I would appreciate hearing about it.I copied this and will paste the following information for those who do not know about this marvelous product.tree oil has been recognized as a potent antiseptic in Australia anecdotally for much longer than there has been scientific evidence. However, recent studies support a role for tea tree oil in skin care and treatment of various ailments.Tea tree oil is a known antifungal agent, effective in vitro against multiple dermatophytes found on the skin.[1] In vivo, shampoo with 5% tea tree oil has been shown to be an effective treatment for dandruff due to Malassezia furfur, the most common cause of the condition.[2]Effectiveness of topical tea tree oil preparations for Candidiasis is supported by their ability to kill Candida in vitro.[3]In the treatment of moderate acne, topical application of 5% tea tree oil has shown an effect comparable to 5% benzoyl peroxide, albeit with slower... | |
| | Following the discussion about boys, breasts and tea tree oil - Pampers! | | scientists looked through the statistics of the last decades and found out that the generations of men, who used to wear plastic pumpers when they were babies, have more probability to end up being sterile, when they reach reproductive age. This is explained by the simple fact, that testicles overheat in plastic pumpers, and that deminishes their function and development | |
| | tea tree oil can cause infant boys to have big breasts | | Discuss?Article:Oils may cause breast growth in boys By JEFF DONN, Associated Press Writer

Lavender and tea tree oils found in some shampoos, soaps and lotions can temporarily leave boys with enlarged breasts in rare cases, apparently by disrupting their hormonal balance, a preliminary study suggests. While advising parents to consider the possible risk, several hormone experts emphasized that the problem appears to happen infrequently and clears up when the oils are no longer used. None of those interviewed called for a ban on sales. The study reported on the condition, gynecomastia, in three boys ages 4, 7 and 10. They all went back to normal when they stopped using skin lotions, hair gel, shampoo or soap with the natural oils. It's unclear how often this problem might crop up in other young children. These plant oils, sometimes called "essential oils," are added to many health-care products, usually for their scent. The oils are sometimes found in other household products or sold in purer forms. Tea tree oil is sometimes used in shampoos for head lice. The suspected effect in this study is blamed on some chemical within the... | |

| | How do I get rid of these fleas?? | | Does anyone know of any home remedies for getting rid of fleas? I have two cats and I'd buy Frontline or something, but I'm unemployed and can't really afford it. I've been sprinkling Borax on the carpet because I've heard from two people now that it helps. One was even a vet or a vet's assistant or something. I've heard if you boil some water and cut up a lemon into fourths and leave it in the water overnight, that it apparently helps kill the fleas once applied to the animal. I've been trying that too and I still have a flea problem. HELP!! I'm unemployed, so the cheaper the remedy the better. | |
