myLot Discussions on Psyllium| Natural Colon Cleanser (no Psyllium Husk) | | I turned 40 not that long ago and got the drill from a few friends and associates about health screenings, getting a high interest bank account, etc. etcIn addition, I was encouraged to do a colon cleanse "to get rid of all the impurities". I was like a lot of people who felt that if you were regular (which I am most of the time) then you have nothing to worry about. So I do my research. Not feeling that Lemonade thing or colon blaster type things because I was told that it's not good to lose that much water in such a short period of time. I found a cleanser at a health food store that claims to eliminate in a slow basis and will not dehydrate. After I started earlier in the week, I found that I would not get to sleep until 3 hours after my normal time (around 1:00a), wake up with a crazy libido and after I take the horse pills (all 12 of them), I really don't feel like eating.Yesterday, I woke up with an excruciating headache and after taking a Tylenol and having about 3 eliminations, it gradually went away. I don't care about losing $14 but I wanted to know if this was normal.Because I felt so bad yesterday, I didn't...
| | | | Psyllium Husk | | Going thru the pharmacy the other day, I noticed a product called psyllium husk, an organic natural colon cleansing agent. Haven't seen this product before I bought it since I was intrigued by the claim on the label that 99.9% of our illness begins in the colon. Additionally it said an average person has 1 to 3 kg of unwanted matter stuck to their bowel wall building up pathogens and toxics. Instruction says to take it on an empty stomach with 1/2 a glass of warm water added honey if preferred. I tried it, taste kinda funky but a bit like oat. Unfortunate for me I took it during evening. Guess what at around 1am my stomach started reacting to it and I spend quite a few rounds in the loo purging the content of my bowel. Well I guess it worked but I will be sure to take in during midday instead in the future. .Yesterday, I woke up with an excruciating headache and after taking a Tylenol and having about 3 eliminations, it gradually went away. I don't care about losing $14 but I wanted to know if this was normal.Because I felt so bad yesterday, I didn't take any but felt a strange movement in my lower chest area last night and noticed this... | |
| | | Can something be wrong with his insides? his mess stinks up the entire house. | | My goodness every time Mike goes to the rest room it stinks up the whole house. No matter how bad you think this is it is ten times worse. My mother won't come here anymore because he thinks it is funny. My daughters room door be closed and it travels in there. She was in my room last night mad as heck. I am not sure what is going on but I would hate to ask him to leave knowing he has no where to live. But this is not fair to the rest of us. Then we have to open up the windows and he gets mad.. | |
| | I'm losing body weight, so fast:o | | Hi allI have discovered a fantastic diet.. Well it's not really a diet.
Last week, someone said to me that I drank to much cola, I drank a bottle a day, about 3000 calories, just with the cola. So I decided to give that up, it should improve my health. I also decided to work out more, and to start jogging again on a regular basis, with my dog:D
I am doing this now for almost a week, and I have already lost about 1-2 kilo's. My stomach looks slimmer, feels slimmer and is slimmer. Just a bit further and I can see my muscles;):D That's what I am aiming for, hopefully I can keep up this^^Anyone else know some tips?Thx
| | Useful Info For Older Cat Parents | | Recently, my older cat, who is ten years old, has developed a problem with hairballs, due to constipation. This had been going on for a couple of months and I've been feeding him hairball control food and giving him grass to eat, which he loves. He still seemed to be having a problem with regularity, so I contacted my vet about it. She asked if he was going to his litter box and straining to use the bathroom, which he's isn't, so it doesn't look as though he's impacted. A friend here on mylot suggested a little olive oil added to the diet might help (thanks kashmeresmycat!) but she also suggested something I'd never heard of before. She told me to buy some canned pumpkin and add one to two teaspoons daily to his food (wet food, of course). She said the pumpkin will add a fair amount of fiber to his diet and most cats like the taste well enough to eat it with no problem. This has worked out pretty well so far, as he eat's it without complaint. Just thought I'd share that info with anyone whose having this problem with their cutie. | |
| | Wheat Grass for the Cat | | My cats had a problem with stool, they were often constipated. I was getting wheat grass, the one you put in the water fountain so it grows, they loved it, but it wasn't enough for them. I bought them psyllium husk fiber, that helped, but I wanted something more natural for them. So I bought a roll of whet grass in the health store, they loved it, but in a few weeks it died. It took me a few days to find time to go back to that store and get it for them. When I got more grass, I placed it next to their food. I took a little bit of grass and brought it to one of my sleeping cats. I held it next to his nose, he woke up with wide opened eyes and gave a loud meow. I pulled back the grass and he followed my hand, I lead him to the patch of grass and there was something I loved seeing... He gave a loud cry and ran for the grass. He ate it so hungryly I couldn't help but to smile. The other two cats heard the meowing and came over to see what was going on. Once they saw the grass they ran to it and started eating. Now I plant wheat grass for them myself, so they always have it. Ever since I started giving them grass they got even healthier and no longer had a problem with... | |
