| Beware of Coke Zero and Pepsi Max! | | Last weekend my daughter forwarded to me a text message about the carcenogenic effects of Aspartame, a sugar substitute commonly present in Coke Zero and Pepsi Max--both low caloric beverages almost all of us love. I somehow heard about it before and ignored it but because warnings on consumption of the substance have been widely disseminated, I decided to do a little research about this very harmful substance we have been ingesting everyday. The following article is from www.mercola.com/article/aspartame/dangers.htm:Aspartame is, by far, the most dangerous substance on the market that is added to foods.Aspartame is the technical name for the brand names NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, and Equal-Measure. It was discovered by accident in 1965 when James Schlatter, a chemist of G.D. Searle Company, was testing an anti-ulcer drug.Aspartame was approved for dry goods in 1981 and for carbonated beverages in 1983. It was originally approved for dry goods on July 26, 1974, but objections filed by neuroscience researcher Dr John W. Olney and Consumer attorney James Turner in August 1974 as well as investigations of G.D. Searle's research practices caused the U.S. Food and Drug... | |
| | oh my prescription | | Hello mylotters, here in our country the doctors prescription includes the brand name of the drugs, and generic names so most of the people nowadays opted to generic brand which cost less than the costly branded drugs but sometimes it may take longer to get well than taking the branded one.
If in your case would you buy the branded medicines prescribed to you by the doctor which won't take longer to get well or you go for the generic drugs that is not costly but may take sometimes to be well?

| Does a doctor's prescription drugs always good to your systems? | | I do not always makes this a topic, but sometimes a prescription made by a doctor seems to make me feel dizzy, with a feeling of bigger visions, and my stomach is always
like empty even if I take some foods before taking my medication.I just taught that my body was just adjusting the drugs, but days was over that I am hesitant to take the drug anymore, instead I drunk a water with 2 cups of sugar and consumed it all to detoxify my body, because I feel I am overdose to the drug or was over prescribed to its dosage,so I go back to my doctor and was given a good drug than what was prescribed before.
| | Do you take medecine without Doctors prescription..? | | It'a a habit that many of us used to grow . They think they are experienced enough to have medication of their own.. and end up being in a more disastrous position.. Although sometimes it works.. But we should not do it..

| Do you think Tylenol should be prescription only? | | Awhile back I read an article that they were going to make Tylenol RX only. This upset me because I use Tylenol all the time. Do you think they are really going to do this? Do you think they should? | |
| | Waiting for your Prescription | | I went to the UMMC in KL for a check up recently. Waiting to see the doctor was okay but to get my medicine, there was this huge crowd. It was to be a long, long wait. We all waited patiently or impatiently for our turn to collect the medicine.
As this is a public hospital,I wonder whether the recession has got worse so much so many people have now turn to public hospitals instead. Things are not altogether cheap at government hospitals too. To get one test on your blood sample cost RM10 easily and seeing a consultant doctor at a lecturer level is RM5 and at the professor level;RM15. All in all, you may have to fork out up to some RM100 for both consultancy and medicine. Is this the same in your country?
