Eat oily fish weekly to protect eyesight
hey friends!!![em]happy[/em]Eating oily fish once a week may reduce age-related macular degeneration which is the major cause of blindness and poor vision in adults in western countries and the third highest cause of global blindness, according to a study. There are two types of age-related macular dengeneration (AMD), wet and dry. Wet AMD is the main cause of vision loss. A team of researchers across seven European countries, coordinated by London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, sought to investigate the association between fish intake and omega 3 fatty acids with wet AMD, comparing people with wet AMD with controls.Participants were interviewed about their dietary habits including how much fish they ate and what type. Information on the main omega 3 fatty acids (DHA) and (EPA) was obtained by linking dietary data with food composition tables. The findings show that people who habitually consume oily fish at least once a week compared with less than once a week are 50 percent less likely to have wet AMD. There was no benefit from consumption of non oily white fish. There was a strong inverse association between levels of DHA and EPA and wet AMD. People...
Omega 3 Oils
I would like to know if anyone has been using Omega 3 supplements for an extended period of time, and the benefits of taking it. Is it good for you, does it help? Have you had any negative side effects? I read some information about this supplement but I'd rather hear results from people's experiences before trying certain things. Thank you.
asthma
Three of the four people in our house have asthma, some to a more extreme degree than others, but at one time or another we all have to take medications to manage our breathing. However, we've found some good holistic approaches that have sharply decreased the episodes. I've increased the potassium and selenium intake in our household and we take Omega-3 supplements and watch the gluten intake as well. I am pleasantly surprised at the difference we've seen.
What is your opinion about omega.me?
Hi friends recently found a site omega.me which is not a ptc as it says but the promotion is such you will misinterpret it as a ptc site.I will not recommend this one to ptc workers because you have to top up your account to view ads and the trick is the minimum top up is $3 and what you get 40+ads in the first day and 2/3 ads there after so you just get back $0.50 cents and not even a payout if you do not have lot of referrals recruited before you topped up your account and renting also did not help so basically I lost money in this site.Does any one is successful with this if so how if you can share..will be immensely helpful.
What is your favorite nut?
(Besides me) Hahaha. I love hazelnuts. I think cashews are delicious. I get a yearning for pecans sometimes but they are very expensive. And brazil nuts are good too. I don't care for peanuts but do enjoy a handful of the spanish ones from time to time. And walnuts are very good for me so I eat some occasionally. (Omega-3). Oh, and lets not forget the almond. So which are your favorites? Are you like me and like most or do you have certain ones you like? Or, do you just like the human nuts like me? Hahaha[em]rasp[/em][em]w00t[/em][em]shocked[/em]
Have you heard about the sardines in USA news?
today my son informed me that he heard on the news a while back that the last sardine factory in USA is closing[em]sad[/em] I do love sardines. we were discussing about when i was a kid. i told him they used to have packets of dried herring that i loved but everyone made fun of me cause they stunk[em]rofl[/em] but they were really good. it seems sardines also are sometimes from herring. these are rich in omega-3,vitamin D,B 12, etc. the last factory in maine is shutting down. over 130 people out of work. its been open since 1875.[em]sorry[/em] this is the link, NOT A REFRRAL, to do with the discussion. http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2010-04-14-last-sardines_N.htm so do you love sardines.? this is sad to me. now if we eat any, they will be from other countries that dont check their food products like we do.
Foods that's best for our eyes!
Our eyes is one of the most used and expose part of our body, especially during work time, we spend long hours sitting in front of the computer. So its very important to know the essential nutrients needed for our eyes to keep it healthy. So here's the foods that's needed for our eyes that we must remember to include in our diet. I found this on online internet newspaper.Avocado, broccoli, eggs, spinach, kale, tomato: all as source of lutein.• Carrots: rich in vitamin A• Garlic and sunflower seeds: provides selenium• Tomatoes: source of lycopene• Salmon: rich in omega-3 fatty acidsDo you eat any of this list of foods?
Diets may determine dementia risk
The foods we choose to eat determine our risk of dementia. Latest work in Archives of Neurology shows sticking to a diet rich in nuts, fish and vegetables significantly cuts the chance of developing Alzheimer's. A Mediterranean diet containing plenty of fresh produce and less high fat dairy and red meat has long been thought to improve general health. Diet rich in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, vitamin E and folate but low in saturated fat and vitamin B12 appear to be best. Experts have long suspected that nutrients might modify dementia risk.Folate reduces circulating levels of the blood amino acid homocysteine which has been linked to Alzheimer's. Understanding the connection between diet and dementia risk may help prevent the development of diseases like Alzheimer's for some people.
Omega.me is a farce
Hello mylottersI recently joined omega.me. Its a PTA program in which you must pay in order to be able to do your clicks.THey offer for $3 10 days of membership. I check online and supposely it was a good program in which it would be easy to recover your investment. Now the problem is i have joined and having a big problem . I spend practically all day waiting for new ads and get something like 10 ads. If my calculus is correct i would not be able to recover my investment($3). I have seen 65 ads on 3 days and if this goes on i would not even be able to cashout nothing(the minimum is 1.5).Have you joined omega.me? Are you having the same problem?
