For painless Hair Removal within minutes at home with minimum cost..Depilatories
Depilatories use a chemical called thioglycolate mixed with sodium hydroxide or calcium hydroxide to literally the hair away. Thioglicolatedisrupts disulfide bonds that hold skin and hai together, these bonds contain more protien cysetin more than do the disulfide bonds that hold skin cells together. Thioglycolate is more effective on disulfide bonds that contain cysteine. The major side effect of depilatories is the irritation because the chemicals can melt away skin cells. a depilatory is applied on the areawith unwanted hairand left for3 to 15 minutes. During this time the chemical dissolves the hair and the resulting jelly-like substsnce is wiped or washed off after time. the chemicalshould be tested first on smaall area of skinat least 48 hours before applying it to alarge area. applying hydrocotisone cream after hair removalmay help decrease irritation
What is the texture of your hair? wavy, curly/kinky or straight?
What is the texture of your hair?I am talking about the natural/undressed hair. Is it curly/kinky?straight or wavy? Mine is wavy. Our hair texture is determined by the proteins present in our hair shaft. Curly hair has to do with the chemical bonds in the protein that makes up hair - a-keratin. Keratins, particularly a-keratin, have long sequences of amino acids (often more than 300) which forms a helical structure. Pairs of these helical structures then coil about each other in a left-hand coiled-coil structure. These are then attracted to another coiled coil so two keratin helices will stick together. These four-chain structures then associates with another four-chain structure to form the hair filament. One of the amino acids which make up these chains, is cysteine which has a sulpher group which is able to make connections with other sulpher groups on other coiled coils.(http://ask.metafilter.com/36927/Curly-vs-straight-what-gives) The more interactions a filament has with another filament, the more tightly coiled the coiled-coil becomes. Hence, curly hair has more interactions than straight hair. The process of `perming' hair introduces more accessibility of the...
Glutathione: Anobody uses this one?
DescriptionGlutathione is produced in the human liver and plays a key role in intermediary metabolism, immune response and health, though many of its mechanisms and much of its behavior await further medical understanding. It is also known as gamma-Glutamylcysteineglycine and GHS. It is a small protein composed of three amino acids, cysteine, glutamic acid and glyceine. Glutatione is found in two forms, a monomerthat is a single molecule of the protein, and a dimmer that is two of the single molecules joined together. The monomer is sometimes called reduced glutathione, while the dimmer is also called oxidized glutathione. The monomer is the active form of glutathione. Oxidized glutathione is broken down to the single molecule by an enzyme called glutathione reductase.Glutathione, in purified extracted form, is a white powder that is soluble in water and in alcohol. It is found naturally in many fruits, vegetables, and meats. However, absorption rates of glutathione from food sources in the human gastrointestinal tract are low.General useGlutathione was first isolated in yeast in 1929. Its metabolism in the body was described in 1984, and its role in cancer...
Glutathione! a whitening pill?? to drink or not to drink?
(Excerpt from the article of Dr. Nina Halili-Jao, Allure; a Sunday section of the Philippine Star, November 21, 2004) I recently received a letter from a reader inquiring about how I maintain my smooth complexion. She also inquired about glutathione, whitening pill. Glutathione is said to be a small protein composed of three amino acids called cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine. Glutathione is produced by the body in response to the environment (including pollution), the water we drink, and the chemicals and pesticides found in the food we eat that damage our cells and systems. Glutathione is usually referred to as the body's "master anti-oxidant." It is said to be important in maintaining good health and long life. A person who is exposed to more toxins is said to use up his supply of glutathione. Without the protection of glutathione, cells will die at a faster rate, leading to quicker aging and a higher risk of developing diseases induced by toxins such as carcinoma. The whitening of the skin sis said to be just a side effect of this anti-oxidant medication when the dosage is doubled. As an anti-oxidant/ anti-aging medication, glutathione's recommended dosage...

Snacking often gets a bad rap, but if you make intelligent choices about what you eat, you can actually benefit your health and longevity. Most of us are used to eat three times a day, but it is much healthier to eat smaller meals more frequently..You will mostly avoid the pitfalls of overindulging at your next meal and may actually consume fewer total calories for the day. Keep healthy "grab-and-go" snacks on hand all the time to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks. Here are the 5 snacks that may help;1.Nuts and Seeds. Healthy and appetizing, nuts and seeds are absolutely the best snack. They can improve circulation and muscle tone. do you take glutathione?
GLUTATHIONE is a combination of three amino acids, glutamate, glycine and cysteine.I t is a potent antioxidant, that deactivates free radicals, which can speed up the the aging process. Some reserchers say it is the most potent anticarcinogens in the body. It has also been used to help in treatment of allergies, cataracts, diabetes, hypoglycemia, and arthritis, as well as in the prevention of the harmful side effects of high dose radiation therapy and chemotherapy. If you are a smocker or alcohol drinker, this amino acid is for you because it helps protect your body from these poisons. Every cell can make glutathione from it's components, which are found in fruits, vegetables and raw meat (cooking can dissipate these components).
