| Lupus?! Eight Months To Live?! | | A really close friend of mine was just diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AHA). The doctors told her that she has eight months before her body kills itself. I first off want to start by saying that I refuse to let her take the corticosteroids that she's been prescribed. I'm not doing this because I'm a terrible person. I've known two people in my life to have had SLE and both got worse while taking the steroids. Both also started with homeopathic remedies. Sadly, I've lost touch with both of them and was wondering if someone knew of what she should be doing... I refuse to see my friend die. She just turned 21 and is the most beautiful person I've ever met. I need feedback. Experiences? Remedies? | |
| | my son has wart on his thumb...help! | | Okay so my son has a wart on his thumb. I havent taken him to the doc cuz i figured they would jsut freeze it and a doc appt even with insurance costs about 40 out of my pocket, the freeze stuff over the counter is still 12-20 bucks depending which brand it is...plus they all say not for children under 12 yrs old, and my son is only 5, i asked teh pharmacy if they know why the age restriction and they said cuz of the sensitivity of the skin on younger children. Hubby is off work for a while now so that is why i need to go inexpensive if possible, but effective..So question, before i go buy anything is there something around the home that might help? I had a friend tell me she took her daughter who is 5 had a few of them in different areas (knees, face, and finger) and the dermatologist told her WD-40 and a bandaid. Her daughter wouldnt keep the bandaids on so she dont know if it would have worked, she ended up going and having them removed by the doc, but she also has state insurance so it was all paid for..nothing out of pocket.Any suggestions on what else i can try or if anyone has used the WD-40 trick and it worked? | |

| Do you take any sleep aids to help you get a good nights rest? | | I hate to sleep, but when I need my rest there is nothing like laying there and counting sheep into the thousands. I've never taken a sleep aid but the other night I did, I don't know if it helped but I did feel better in the morning. It was an herb so its not habit forming, do you require a sleep aid so you can get your Zzzzzz's? | |
| | Child Ear Infection, Did You Know? | | I was just wondering how many people out there in My Lot were aware that when their Child or a friends child, etc. Has an ear infection that they are NOT supposed to receive an oral antibiotic, because it does nothing? That they are indeed supposed to have ear drops. The kind that my son has is CYPRODEX.
Of those of you that have children with ear tubes in place, how many of you knew that if there are large clumps of wax accumulating in the inner ear, and not seeming to come out, that the safest way to help soften it is with Hydrogen Peroxide? (this is also the best option for anyone in general)
Lastly how many of you know that you should NEVER use mineral oil in your, or a child's ear? This was once believed to be okay, but since the oil can get into the sinus cavity and be aspirated into the lungs (could take a couple of days...) which then could slowly cut off oxygen flow, causing the person to exficiate. | |

| Kidney Stone attack, I am in such pain! Any natural cures out there? | | I have had kidney stones for the last few years. In fact while I was staying in L.A. I nearly lost my right kidney when it shut down on me ad they stuck a stint in it for a month. I came back to Palm Springs two months later and was still unable to afford the lythroscopy to break down the stones, which is the traditional treatment. Then I heard about this stuff called Uriflow that is supposed to naturally break down the stones so you can flush them. I took it for two months and I got better. You're supposed to continue to take it for a much longer period than two months to flush all of it out. I knew that but couldn't afford to spend the money on it every month so when the pain stopped, I stopped. Now here I am again in dire pain, trapped in bed. I just oredered Uriflow again. It should arrive tommorrow then I will start taking it again and flush enough of the stones that the kidneys don't shut down on me again. One of them was 14 mm and the other was just under 10mm 2 years ago when they caused me all that trouble! They say anything over 5mm has a 20% chance of passing on it's own and anything larger goes into negative percentages in terms of the chances of passing the stone... | |
