| | Have you taken glucosamine for joint pain? | | I went to the doctor because my hands and knees hurt a lot, specially in the mornings. After some tests, she found out I had arthrosis and gave me glucosamine with condroitine. Have you taken it? Did it do you ant good? I have heard that it doesn´t help much and the meds are very expensive. What´s your experience? Should I take it? | |

| | Horse on Glucosamine | | One month ago I put my twenty year old horse on glucosamine. In the past she was foundered and had developed arthritis. Since I take glucosamine myself and it saves me from cortisone injection, I decided to try it. Horse arthritis are very expensive so I called the vet and asked. She said I could but it probably wouldn't do her any good. Said I could try eight a day. So, she is up to 7 1500mg a day and is getting built up to eight. Just this week I have noticed a huge difference. It made me cry to see such an improvement. Does anyone else do this for their horses with arthritis? | |

| Pain management | | My husband had an accident at work over a year ago now which hurt his back very badly. After many appointmets and going from doctor to doctor it was discovered he has fybromyalgia. This causes him terrible pain which sometimes brings him to his knees. I now have to do a lot of the jobs he used to be able to do as if he tries to do them he is out of action for a few days. He has some very strong pain killers from the doctors, the next strongest are used for cancer patients. I am very concerned about him taking these strong medications all the time and I would like to learn about alternate ways for him to deal with his pain. All these tablets are bad for his stomach, liver and kidneys. He has a TENS machine which works sometimes - do you know of any other non- medication techniques of dealing with chronic pain? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. | |

| Can you swallow big pills? | | My knees have been feeling a bit weak so I decided I would try taking a Glucosamine supplement, I made my purchase and brought them home. I opened the bottle to take one and they are huge. I have trouble swallowing big pills, I have even choked and threw up trying to take big pills before, I am really disappointed, I did not take one yesterday, I don't know if I even want to take them now. The thought of choking and vomiting trying to get them down has me very weary of taking these.Do you also have trouble swallowing big pills? | |
| | Move Free Advance: Life changing supplement! | | About two years ago one of my knees began to hurt so bad I could hardly walk without a limp. For years and years I had walked around one of the beautiful lakes that is in the middle of our town. I had to quite! The doctor suggested using a glucosamine and chondroitin to help the joint. I got some from a GNC store and it helped a little but at night I would lay in bed and almost cry it hurt so bad. I saw an ad on TV for Move Free Advance. I have been on it for six months now and I have NO pain in my knee anymore as long as I continue to take it. I can ride my excercise bike again! Once in a great while I do have a little pain but it's nothing like I was having. Most days I am free to move around as I wish without being afraid of my knee giving out or aching. Just wanted to share with you the info. | |

| Could Use Some Of Your Prayers | | For quite awhile I've been plagued by a lot of joint pain, especially in my ankles and feet I would say for the past two years. Sometimes the pain would be so bad, that I can hardly walk around in my own apartment. To put it mildly, it's frustrating as hell! I feel like a decrepit old lady in her 90s.Then over the summer someone told me about that natural supplement, Glucosamine...so at the time I had some extra funds and took advantage of a buy one get one free deal at my local Walgreen's as it's expensive stuff..about $50 a bottle. It says it takes about a month for it to kick it, but once it did it really worked....for the first time I was pain free, and naturally. You see I'm not too keen on medications. I think I get that from my great-grandmother who was a nurse and thought all docs were idiots...she was into all natural and herbal cures herself and she never took anything stronger than aspirin and lived to be 98.When my pain first began, my foot doc at the time recommended Celebrex...before I got the prescription filled, I read up on it and wasn't too keen on the detrimental side effects such as blood clots, strokes and... | |
| | my old bones are getting tired | | Although I really enjoy my job, I am not sure how long my old bones will be able to endure this type of work. I believe that I have a touch of arthritis in my knees and hips. There are times that I ache so bad that all I want to do is sit in a lazy chair and wrap up in a warm blanket. I take ibuprofen for the pain. It helps somewhat to dull the pain. Working weekends is not easy for me. My body protests when I work for 6 days straight. I would like to talk to my supervisor about the possibility of working just a normal work week of Monday-Friday and having every weekend off. I believe there are other people who only work Monday thru Friday. Maybe I should wait to talk to her. But, I am not sure my body agrees with that thought. | |
