| | | do you use natural flea products for your dogs? | | I've been doing a lot of research online for natural flea remedies for our dogs. I've heard that putting lavender, rosemary or eucalyptus leaves under their bedding repells fleas. Has anyone ever tried this?I also read a lot about giving dogs Brewer's yeast. I went looking for it in the baking aisle at the store & it wasn't there! I wasn't sure what it was. Then I found Brewer's yeast tablets in the pet section of the store. I bought them, but my husband was not thrilled with the idea. He called our vet, who said he didn't know anything about it & recommended buying Frontline or other topical treatments. I don't like putting all those chemicals on my pets.Do you have any natural flea treatments that you have used & found to work? | |
| | Would you have been able to say no? | | We were driving around the other day when my husband pulled over to the side of the road. He'd spotted it before I did... A crate at the side of the road, in front of a house. On the front of the crate, a big yellow sign. It read:"Free Kittens"As soon as I spotted the kittens I yelled at my husband for pulling over!! "Why are you doing this to me?" I got out and picked up a loud mouth kitten. Unfortunatly, the little gray kitten was a female. I don't like female cats, I will only bring home a boy, and the boys were all orange. Thankfully I can say no to orange cats, I already have an orange cat! It was still tough, as they were so tiny and cute. I just kept reminding myself of the vet bills, the fact that the cat would need to be fixed and get it's shots, plus the fact that we currently have a flea problem. I eventually walked away empty handed! Can you say no when you see little kittens? | |

| | Death to Immunizations! | | Immunizations (immunity vaccinations) are nothing but outright poisons! Like antibiotics, immunizations weaken your body’s defense system and eventually make it difficult for your body’s defense system to be able to resist infections and diseases. What happens when harmful bacteria enters the body? When harmful bacteria enters the body and attacks healthy tissues, your body automatically responds by manufacturing antibodies in the liver that circulate in the blood and cells to fight the harmful bacteria. But there are some Scientists who reason that rather than focus on proper nutrition to help strengthen the body’s natural defense system, they would inject people with dead or weakened harmful bacteria which will force people to produce antibodies prior to an infection or an epidemic. What these Scientists and their allies (the pharmaceutical industry in the main) do not tell people, however, is the fact that this artificial preparatory process always involves unfavorable side effects. Additionally, some people, because of their chemical makeup, may also react in extreme conditions to these vaccinations. There are several unpleasant and recorded facts about this process (links... | |
| | Help!! Fleas keep coming back no matter what!! | | Hi everyone. I need some suggestions please! I have 12 dogs, 7 which are puppies and are getting ready to go to new homes. My problem is fleas. The yard has been sprayed and I have put Frontline on my adult dogs, and bathe the puppies in puppy flea and tick shampoo because the puppies are too young for the Frontline. The fleas keep coming back, and someone told me to sprinkle brewer's yeast on their food and that helps keep them off. One problem there. The brewer's yeast upset the stomach of one of the puppies so I quit putting that on their food because one can imagine the mess I was having to clean up. We feed all of our dogs puppy food out of one pan because it is rather difficult to keep the adult dogs out of the puppy food and vice versa. Can anyone please give me more suggestions as what to try next in addition to the bathing, Frontline, and spraying the yard? Someone else had suggested sprinkling garlic powder on their food instead of brewer's yeast, but I am afraid that once again the same puppy will have an upset stomach. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions. | |
| | Inositol and Bipolar | | I am learning that inositol plays a big role in mania-depression, or the lack of it,I should say. SO I've been trying to find foods with inositol in them. Here's what I found so far that will help restore inositol levels; Lecithin, soybeans, milk, lima beans, wheat germ, wheat, brown rice (unpolished), raisins, dark molasses, cabbage, cantaloupe, brewer's yeast, nuts especially peanuts, fresh fruits especially citrus, beef brain, heart, liver (contain high saturated fats). Inositol helps the prevents accumulation of fat in the liver, and helps prevent the development of cirrhosis and degenerative changes on the kidneys. Inositol also aids in the metabolism of cholesterol, thus preventing atherosclerosis. It also combines with Choline to form lecithin, thus protecting the arteries against hardening and cholesterol. Inositol is essential for proper functioning of the heart, eyes and brain, and it helps prevent hardening of the arteries and protects the liver, kidneys and heart. Inositol is also important for the production of healthy cells in the bone marrow, eye membranes and intestines. It seems people with bipolar are lacking in inositol. | |
