One of the first points that I learned about during my education in contemporary medical acupuncture was GV-26, also known as Governing Vessel 26.
GV-26 is also called Shui Gou, and is traditionally used as a first-aid revival point due to its effectiveness in restoring consciousness and mental alertness after a person has fainted or become extremely weak.
I regularly recommend GV-26 as a point that people can apply pressure to for about a minute at a time to increase mental alertness and physical energy. Pressure can be applied with the tip of a finger, or for increased effectiveness, with the tip of a fingernail.
I have found that self-application of pressure to GV-26 is particularly useful for drowsy drivers, providing an almost immediate boost of alertness that can be life-saving. GV-26 can also promote mental clarity and focus, useful for when a project is at hand and the brain feels sluggish.
GV-26 is located between your upper lip...

If you are a women, do you like to use nose rings?I am not ready to pierce my nose for nose ring. I like to see other women with nose ring. I like a 'typical ring' on nose than a stone. I like to have it only once in a while. So, I adjust it with sticky kind of nose rings. What about you?
| | Acupressure, tips… | | Hi friends, many of you are aware of the unique science of treatment using ‘acupressure’, in which certain specific points on our body are pressed to get instant relief from pain and cure from so many diseases including chronic disease. This is a vast science and there are tons of points on our body. Each point is associated with some specific organ on your body. Usually the points on the palms, wrists and foot are pressed. From my experience I would like to share the following.
Clap your hands for 5-10 minutes at a stretch daily in the morning (or any time that suits you) with maximum force. Your palms may look red and you may get some pain. This is a unique way of pressing all points on your palms. This will keep you healthy and may give relief from headache, stress, depression etc. We the Hindus here do this clapping during our worship. This is certainly good.
Those friends, particularly women, who have lost their hair or have less hair, can try this. Rub the nails of fingers of both hands mutually for 5-10 minutes, whenever you find time. See the result. My senior friends, who have gone bald can also try this. I had gone almost...
| | Finger Acupressure: A Home Remedy for Some Ailments | | Are you familiar with finger accupressure? Considered an ancient art of healing, it has become popular in homes for minor sickness like insomnia, hypertension, hiccups, dizziness, common cold, fever, etc. One has to use his/her fingers to press certain pressure points: light pressure for subjects sufffering from acute pain, hard pressure for people with no complications. Example, for abdominal pain, use thumb to press down, then massage upward about 3 inches below the knee cap; for dizziness, in between the eyebrows, and so on. I just got a book from a bookstore on finger acupressure, and I will try it if it works. Of course, this is just a first aid remedy; it does not take the place of a real medical application. | |
| | Is acupressure the same thing as a massage | | Is acupressure the same thing as a massage or is there more to it please explain. larly women, who have lost their hair or have less hair, can try this. Rub the nails of fingers of both hands mutually for 5-10 minutes, whenever you find time. See the result. My senior friends, who have gone bald can also try this. I had gone almost bald but got back the sprout, see me in my avtar.
Lastly, for parents, grandparents whose kids/grandkids wet their bed. Press the tip of the little fingers of both hands 10-20 times at a stretch thrice daily. Belive me, your bed will remain dry.
So friends, did you find this useful? Any tip of yours? Please share and comment.
