myLot Discussions on Abs Diet| Have you successfully lost weight and kept it off? | | Dec 2006 I made a ton of life-changing decisions. One of them was to lose weight in a steady, healthy manner and keep it off. I have lost a total of 12lbs and would like to lose another 20lbs. I'm looking for others that have lost weight and kept it off. Any tips? Suggestions? Anything that can bring a faster weight loss (not temporary, permanent.) What magazines, books, websites do you read for inspiration and motivation if any? This change is for life for me, not just temporary. What are your favorite streches, toning exercises and fat burning workouts and foods? What food gives you the longest lasting energy?I want to know of any toning exercises specifically for arms, chest and abs. My legs are already really muscular from my walking, lunges and running routines, just need to burn the fat in that area.I eat 3 small meals a day and up to 2 snacks. I drink a lot of water. Not a big fan of soda (thank goodness or else I would probably need to lose another 50lbs.) I got a sweet tooth, but I treat myself maybe once a week to something small. I don't deprive myself. What are your favorite recipes for healthy foods that fill you up and give you energy?
| | If I can do it anybody can! | | Hello, my name is Colleen, and I love food. That is probably why I used to weigh about 185-190 lbs. At 5'6" I was easily considered obese by my doctor. About 4 years ago I decided that I was tired, literally and figuratively. The extra weight was leaving me fatigued and I was just fed up with being fat. I embarked on a weight loss plan that helped me lose 65 pounds and keep it off for the last 3.5 years. I started eating 5-6 times a day. Smaller meals that kept me fueled up all day long, instead of 3 larger meals that left me feeling stuffed and bloated. I cut out most red meat by switching to turkey based products (ground turkey, turkey bacon, turkey sausage), chicken and fish. I quit eating sweets. I stopped eating at fast food restaurants altogether and started making wiser choices at sit down restaurants. I gave myself one day per week when I could "cheat" so I would not feel deprived. I also started lifting weights 3 days per week and running on an elliptical machine for 30 minutes of interval training 2 times per week. I went from 18% body fat to 11% and 190 pounds to 125 pounds. I am healthier and happier. I eat just about anything I want now, my metabolism is... | |
| | Abs diet tip no.4 | | Stop Counting..Though calorie burning is paramount to losing fat, calorie counting can be tedious and discouraging. The great news is that when you focus on your abs diet, the foods themselves will,in a way, count calories for you. How? Youll eat often alot and with enough nutritional diversity that youll stay full all day long rather than expirience the blood sugar surges that can cause you to annhililate everything in your kitchen.rived. The title is "The Abs Diet" and it is written by David Zincenko. It gives exercise ideas, recipes, and helpful tips. If I can do this anybody can. I used to be able to sit down and eat a pie. Not a slice of pie but an entire pie. I did this for myself so I could be healthy and live longer. | |

| | Abs diet tips no.2 | | Use your blender..Your blender is a powerful tool to help you create a leaner body.
Smoothies--blended mixtures of milk,low-fat yogurt, ice and other good stuff--can serve as meal subtitutions and potent snacks. They require little prep time, theyre filling, and they taste like dessert if you add berries, flavored whey powder or peanut butter.Drink an 8ounce smoothie for breakfast,or as a snack b4 or after workout.
